Functions of Vee Packing Seals

Vee packing seals (or chevron packing) are heavy-duty, multi-lip seals designed to prevent fluid or gas leakage in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, specifically for high-pressure, high-wear, and demanding applications. They consist of a set of V-shaped rings (chevron) sandwiched between a male and female adapter to provide superior sealing for rods, pistons, and plungers.

They are available in various sizes, stack heights, and homogeneous and fabric compounds to suit various pressures and environments. The selection of fabric or homogenous compounds should be made on the basis of operating pressure, temperature, and the type of air or fluid medium with which the packing must function.

Vee packing sets are composed of a top and bottom component with a varying number of center vees. The number of sealing rings is 6-12pcs in general, the higher the sealing pressure, the more the number of V-rings.

Vee packing can be optimized by altering materials to accommodate different working condition (temperature, pressure, media). We offer a wide range of materials including NBR, HNBR, FKM, EPDM, Fabric enforced rubber, virgin PTFE, Filled PTFE, PEEK and PU. According to the different working conditions in the well, choose different materials.

In order to play a better sealing and supporting seal role, first need to know the exact size of the groove such as groove diameter, rod diameter, groove width, etc., and then by the technician according to the relevant standards to determine the design of the size of the Vee packing.
